died while mining snowdrifts

I was mining snowdrifts when suddenly I'm dead. no notice of battle start, but I did see
17:12 The battle "Attack on marensman" has ended.
17:12 Some of your items have been damaged: Wanderer's Belt (-1), Unicorn Armour (-1), Beast Ring (-1), Elusivity Amulet (-1), Unicorn Cuisses (-1), Yaz Gnome Amulet (-1).
the only human here was a level 1! when I go back there to check completed battles it does not show on the list. how can I die in a battle that never occured???
please fix this!
