How works durability with new runes?

It looks like new feature of armor, other then basic durability.

Reduces damage received in PvP...not sure how much durability reduces how much damage though. steelblade has 1240 durability, reduced my magic damage by 20

hence everyone can buy them, it should work for everyone... common sense isn't it? they don't mention anywhere it works for normal combat or magic damage

i doubt anyone can answer this but as da nerminator said for 1200+ durability, a lower lvl with set advantage made his damage reduce by 20 ... so not that good investment if u aren't doing pvp everyday
