For all who do not know the game yet some simple rules:
  • Every week (Friday morning) we publish one question to our game:
    Legend. Legacy of the Dragons.
  • From all correct answers up to 10 participants will win one promotional game code each.
  • The most detailed or unique answers have the biggest chance to win.
  • Copy and paste-answers will NOT be considered. Same goes for trolling or spamming or inadequate language.
  • Personal attacks on other players in your answers/posts as well will NOT be accepted.
  • Answer must be in English. You can answer in your mothertongue only if you post understandable translation in English in same post as your answer.

They are used to make a clan quest item Elemental Amalgamation. This done by collecting Light, Dark, Fire, Water and Air elements from killing elements. If they opposing races wins the hand fight the elements are much stronger.

These drop in piles of 3-5 (at least in my experience) from elementals at the mage-exclusive abyss/sky locations. You can trade 20 of them for a 1g coin at the Architect's shop, so each one is basically an extra 5s. Free money, woo! You can also obtain them by killing enemy players at the abyss/sky (outside of battles for control of the location) when they have them, but since this almost never happens in practice I don't know if it transfers all of them or only some of them.

As liam321 said these drop from the various fault elementals that can be found in Abyss and Sky as of the last update.

In my experience they drop 4-5 (tested on 27 elementals) each being "worth" 5s (batches of 20- 1g),
They seemingly have been implemented to make up for elementals coin drop being decreased by nearly 50% (you sneaky admins) and dont serve any more purpose than this as far as I know.

They should be handed in immidietly as - just like with the elemental particles used for amalgamations - you will lose a certain amount of your essences when you are defeated by an enemy warrior in Faults who will recieve a couple of your essences.
