Bonecrusher Weapons

So I was thinking, does a 2 handed bonecrusher weapon count as 2 pieces of equipment? I was wondering that because if you are lvl 4 using bonecrusher equipment and have a whole set (excluding helmet of course), will it give you the second set bonus, or are you going to be stuck with the first one? Dodger and Heavyweight would have an advantage early on if that is the case, since they get 2 items instead of 1 in the weapons/shield slots.

it counts as only 1 weapon, however 2nd set bonus for BC only need 8 pieces instead of the 9 that the other sets need
