The ground rules of trading

All trade deals should be declared on the Human or Magmar trade forum.
Non-standard trade deals include those with long-term payment plans. The auctions and your general game knowledge should give you an idea of the market price, but if in any doubt check here or here.

You can carry out the trade only after Guard signs and certifies your Trade forum post. You also may be contacted and asked to change the terms of the deal, return items or pay more money to make sure the deal does not violate any trade rules. Guards should sign-off the deal within 48 hours of the post.

Advice: If you are unsure about any trade, post it on the Trade Forum and check it with a Guard. This will avoid any problems at a future date!


1.1 The exchange of natural resources

Exchanging fish, stones and/or herbs for the finite items obtained from them (dusts, inks and/or collected herbs) is not considered a break in trade rules.


1.2 Loaning of items

An item can be loaned for no more than 7 days. When the 7-day period expires, the item(s) must be returned to their owner. If the item is not returned upon the expiration of the period, the penalty shall equal the overall market price of the items in question. If the items cannot be retrieved from the fraudster’s backpack, the gold worth of the loaned items shall be confiscated and transferred to the original owner. If no money can be claimed, the offender shall be jailed for a fine worth the loaned goods. As soon as the fraudster has paid the fine in Diamonds, the Gold is to be returned to the original owner. If the offender does not pay the fine, the situation shall be regarded as unsolvable and without any benefits for the original owner of the goods.


1.3 Loaning of money

A. If money is loaned for free, the maximum term is 30 days. After this period expires, the full loan must be repaid. Once the loan has been repaid, it can be repeated.

B. If money is loaned for a fee, the maximum term is 30 days. After this period expires, the full loan must be repaid. Once the loan has been repaid, it can be repeated. The maximum loan fee is 1% per day.


1.4 Financial powerlevelling

Players are not allowed to sell or loan more than 50% of the total value of their items and money at the time of trading for non-market prices. Similarly, players are not allowed to buy or borrow more than 50% of the total value of their items and money at the time of trading for non-market prices.

All those in receipt of such items from a selling player, may be subject to investigation and to the confiscation of purchased items, whether purchased in good faith or not.


1.5 Clan trades

Clans are not exempt from trading rules and must obey the same rules as everyone else. There is no such thing as a 'clan item' - items belong to the players to whom they drop. An item put into the Clan Treasury is still owned by the player, not by the clan. The Treasury is a means of store the items of clan members.


1.6 Trade disputes

Trade disputes cannot be resolved without a certified trade agreement on the releveant trade forums. If you have a trade dispute, please contact the Guards and show them the trade agreement on the forums. Players are entitled to incorporate fines for non-fulfillment of a deal into their trade agreement.

Advice: If in doubt, post your trade agreement on the forum, get both parties and a Guard to sign and certify the deal.


1.7 Gifts

The only gifts in the games are identified by the class 'Gift' and can be given to another player with the 'Give a gift' button. No other items are considered to be a gift and are subject to normal trading rules.


1.8 Payment with diamonds

Diamonds cannot be used to pay other users for items and/or for gold.


1.9 Hacking

If your account is hacked and carries out destructive actions, the account is answerable for those actions whoever was in control of that account. It is the user's responsibility to ensure the security of their account - use a proper password, don't tell anyone your login details and so on.


Finally

Guards are only interested in accounts, not who runs them. Appeals of "He's my brother," "My hamster and I play on the same computer," "She's my wife," "Don't block us," etc. are irrelevant. If the game's rules, including these trade rules, are not being violated by accounts, those accounts will not be punished.

If a deal fails or is invalid or illicit otherwise, and the items and game money involved cannot be retrieved, the game administration will not refund the losses incurred.
