Few words about Locksmith profession in WoD (prior to the last update in 2015).
Q.: What can you find in a normal chest or casket?
A.: You get some silver coins and a random resource/item of the same colour as the box.
Q.: How many coins?
A.: It depends:
Bronze Chest 5-10 silver coins
Metal Chest 10-15 silver
Bronze Casket 30-40 silver
Metal Casket 35-50 silver
Large Bronze Casket 70-90 silver
Large Metal Casket 80-90 silver
Bronze Trunk 75-110 silver
Metal Trunk 80-115 silver
Q.: What is your best drop from chests/caskets?
A.: Transferable anger pauldrons with a 37/37 durability from a Large Bronze Casket.
Q.: How often do you get valuable things from green and blue boxes?
A.: Based on my experience, a set item (weapon or wear) comes once every 30-40 caskets. An elixir of destruction/wind - once or twice out of 10 boxes. Rest - cheap resources (stones, plants, fish) or scrolls (healing, purification, antidote, poison, resurrection, etc.).

Q.: Should I become a healer or a locksmith?
A.: If you just want to join the Brotherhood of Virtue, then it is cheaper to be a healer than a locksmith. Getting to the level 30 of maestry is a matter of luck. Between maestry 15 and 30 I have opened 32 metal and 18 bronze chests. Sometimes profession is stuck somewhere between skill levels 11-14; 25-29; 41-44 and so on. Passing those dead points can be very frustrating.
On the other hand, if you like to gamble, then this profession gives more thrill than a healer.
