Not only does it kill the point to the event. It is as well stopping the lower level players from getting the rep and other stuff they need. If you haven't noticed its the higher level players sitting and waiting till the chests pop up and rushing in to snatch them up. Its really doing nothing but stopping the lower level players from advancing.
