Treasure Hunter reputation can be started from lvl 9 right after the completion of quest "Path to treasure" that can be taken from Globus/Avelius (depending on the race). Upon completion players receive 5 reputation and knowledge of how to do the reputation activity such as seeking for trasure and opening it.
Repotation can be rised as per the following:
lvl 9 - up to 500 reputation, 5 reputation received from each Half-decayed Treasure Map
lvl 10 - up to 1000 reputation, 5 reputation received from each Illegible Treasure Map
lvl 11 - up to 2000 reputation, 5 reputation received from each Worn Treasure Map
lvl 13 - up to 2500 reputation, 5 reputation received from each Reliable Treasure Map
lvl 16 - up to 3000 reputation, 5 reputation received from each Detailed Treasure Map

However each map requires a special tool in order to be able to 'dig' for the treasury. In each map is mention which type of tool you do require. Location of the treasury is shown right after the usage of a complete map on the Faeo world map when taken to a far view (by clicking the minus at the bottom left corner). In order to make the treasury seeking easier you can put a tick in characters personal profile settings on the line 'text hints when searching for treasure'. That will show how far/near youare from the treasury while you seek for it on 'hunt' mode.
The first tool is given upon completion of the starting quests and if it get broken it can be repaired. If completely destroyed then there is a shop at Avelius/Globus that allow you to purchase a new one by using Efin Coins that can be found inside trasury caskets.
Map gatherring can be done from different level for different color maps, depending on the reputation. From recurring quests as per the following they are:
lvl 9 (from 0 reputation up to 1000 reputation) - Sailor Baird/Sailor Seymour located the the Docks of each race. In exchange of a Bottle that contain a map or a map scrap they ask resources lvl 9 gathered by the first profession.
lvl 11 (from 1000 reputation up to 2000 reputation) - Wanderer Hovey/Wanderer Linszey located in the Pubs of each race. In exchange of a Envelope that contain map or a map scrap they ask resources lvl 11 gathered by the first profession.
lvl 13 (from 2000 reputation up to 3000 reputation) - Demonologists located in the Surbubs of each race. In exchange of a Map or a map scrap they ask resources lvl 11 gathered by the first profession.
NOTE that there is no guarantee about that you will receive a full map.
Maps can be found also in chests, stashes and bought or received during special events.
After finding a treasury players receive a casket that upon opening drop 5 reputation and there is probability of droping part for creating Treasure Spirit Pet Medallion , Elfin coins, parts for creating Dharog Mount Amulet and collection items. Chests can be open by soloving a puzzle in certain amount of moves by rotating cyrcles which mark must be pointing the top. However if you fail doing it you have to wait certain time untill the next try. There is exception for locksmiths that can directly solove the puzzle and break the lock by using keys bought from Ostap/Sorguya. Also locks can be broken by paying via diamonds.

Depending on the reputation and the level there is various availability of items in the Treasury hunter shop such as pets, mounts, summons and opticusses.
